Dr David de la Hunty MBBS FRANZCO, Ophthalmologist, is an Eye Surgeon and medical doctor specialising in eye diseases.

Australian-trained, with rotations in Western Australia and in the UK, Dr de la Hunty performs cataract and general ophthalmic surgery, including pædiatric care for a large and diverse patient population. Over a 25+ year career he has worked with a variety of lens implant manufacturers and lens styles, aiming to provide the best vision experience after cataract surgery. He also provides medical and surgical eye care for patients with Glaucoma, Macular Degeneration, Diabetes-related eye disease and Children’s eye conditions.

Dr de la Hunty has served as:

He has delivered lectures and tutorials at small and large conferences to other Ophthalmologists regarding advanced cataract surgical technique and lens implant selection. He also enjoys teaching Medical, Orthoptic and Optometry students in his busy practice.

At the beginning of your appointment time, before you see Dr de la Hunty, you will usually see an orthoptist (Somaya or Ngaire) or assistant (Svetlana) who perform various tests like visual acuity tests, assess eye alignment, widefield imaging and eye scans, or peripheral vision tests, and administer eye drops when necessary.
